Acton, MA, October 2, 2016 — Household Goods, Inc., a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization that provides a full range of donated furniture and household items, free of charge, to help people in need make a home, today announces the election of a new director to its board, Michelle Davis.

Davis, a resident of Sudbury, MA since 1997, graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and with high honors from Duke University School of Law. Formerly at Ropes & Gray in Boston, Michelle now focuses on strategic planning, community engagement and development for a range of nonprofit organizations.  She sits on the board of Dartmouth Partners in Community Service in Hanover, NH and guide council for deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, MA; she formerly chaired the Sudbury fundraising committee for Habitat for Humanity of MetroWest/Greater Worcester.

“Michelle is a terrific addition to the Board,” says Board President, Mimi Deck Rutledge. “She has been involved with Household Goods for one and a half years, and currently co-chairs the Development Committee and coordinates our grants program. We look forward to having her on the Board, where she will play an active role in guiding our organization.”
