We are beyond grateful to the hundreds of volunteers and the Boston College staff who made the 2023 Boston College Move Out one of the best ever. We collected more than 4,500 items, including microwaves, fans, lamps, storage containers, and oh, so many sheets and towels to be laundered! (Thanks once again to Crown Linen!)
On Graduation day, a/k/a ”move out Monday,” we increased our intake by 25% from last year, filling several trucks with items to boost our inventory for many months to come. And our volunteers had a lot of fun along the way, including much-appreciated special corporate groups from Bitsight and McKinsey & Company.
We also owe thanks to the many volunteers who did their part to make Move Out 2023 a success:
- Making sandwiches and packing coolers to feed and refresh our crews
- Unloading trucks and getting items organized for our clients
- Driving trucks fearlessly navigating the tight campus roads
- Getting in their steps in collecting items and rolling cartloads from dorm lounges to our waiting trucks
- Keeping an inventory of thousands of items
And thanks also to our staff who coordinated this months-in-planning and monumental effort.
