Barcaloungers, Drapes and a Sewing Machine

23 years ago this month, March 1993, Barb and I received a request from a single mother with two children for living room furniture for her new apartment –  sofa, Barcalounger and a coffee table. When we delivered the furniture, we found that she had no hands. She had lost them in a car accident several years prior. She asked if we could get her a sewing machine and some heavy drapes for her sliding glass doors.  When we returned one month later with the items, she provided a stepladder and hand tools, and we hung the drapes before we left.
