As part of #GivingTuesday, Facebook and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation joined forces to offer small nonprofits the opportunity to earn $1,000 in matching gifts – up to $900,000! Facebook offered their fundraiser vehicle for free (usually there’s a fee to run a fundraiser on Facebook), and the Gates Foundation offered to match up to $1,000 for these fundraisers.
Household Goods was pleased to take part in this opportunity. Thanks to generous donors who got us half-way there, plus an anonymous donor who offered matching funds so we could meet our $1000 goal, we were able to be in the running to receive these matching funds.
